Enhancing the workforce’s capability is a fundamental commitment, one that is ongoing and directly linked to Rumaila’s future prosperity. As new technologies and facilities are introduced, the need for improved training becomes more pronounced, providing the strong foundations for Rumaila’s long-term future development.

3 million hours of training in 11 years

Intensive training and the transfer of expertise and knowledge from bp, PetroChina and other international experts to our workforce is a fundamental part of the journey to modernize the field.

This is completed through classroom training at the Rumaila Academy, as well as field training sessions and one to one mentoring and teaching.

A purpose-built home for learning

Located in the north of the field, the Rumaila Academy comprises of:

an established training curriculum on a range of topics
international-class delivery tools
multi-purpose classrooms
e-learning suites
a specially designated driving safety suite
