• Compulsory Personal Protection Equipment is provided to everybody working in the field.
• Four modern, world-class clinics serve the field, alongside a new occupational health centre that carries out 475 different fitness-for-task medicals.
• 24-hour ambulances cover the entire field, staffed by trained Emergency Medical Technicians and first-aiders.
• The new purpose-built South Rumaila fire station and the completely renovated North Rumaila fire station are both equipped with modern fire-fighting vehicles and tools.

Driven by leadership and the embedding of the Safety Leadership Principles, work continues to reinforce safety as a top priority at the field:

• new process safety system introduced in 2022
• 239% increase in Control of Work permit issued since 2020 – with a total of 112,000 issued in 2024
• 60% of training dedicated to safety in 2024.

Driving remains one of Rumaila’s greatest risks to life. The installation of in-vehicle monitoring systems (IVMS) and continued driver training remain central to the operation’s commitment to reducing traffic accidents at the field.

In 2024:

• 15.3 million kilometres driven by ROO vehicles installed with IVMS
• 78.7 million kilometres driven by contractor vehicles installed with IVMS.
