• Compulsory Personal Protection Equipment is provided to everybody working in the field.
• Four modern, world-class clinics serve the field, alongside a new occupational health centre that carries out 475 different fitness-for-task medicals.
• 24-hour ambulances cover the entire field, staffed by trained Emergency Medical Technicians and first-aiders.
• The new purpose-built South Rumaila fire station and the completely renovated North Rumaila fire station are both equipped with modern fire-fighting vehicles and tools.

‘Control of Work’ system

• 31 operational facilities use the Crescent electronic Permit to Work System, WorkSafe®, for processes and procedures.
• 4,000 personnel now registered on the WorkSafe system.
• Work is carried out only after risks have been systematically assessed and managed.
• 350 permits are typically managed each day.

Driving remains one of Rumaila’s greatest risks to life. The installation of in-vehicle monitoring systems (IVMS) and continued driver training remain central to the operation’s commitment to reducing traffic accidents at the field.

In 2020:

• 12.8 million kilometres driven by ROO vehicles installed with IVMS
• 25.77 million kilometres driven by contractor vehicles installed with IVMS.
