This new welfare building, which is one of many being erected across the field, is set to replace the legacy constructs and provide a safer and more comfortable working environment for site staff, demonstrating Rumaila Operating Organisation’s (ROO) continued commitment to looking after its workforce.
Work on the new building at Mishrif Shamiya Degassing Station (DS) began back in August 2022, with work handed over in March 2024. Construction was carried out using a traditional method of cement loading, which involves creating concrete foundations, brick walls and a concrete roof.
The facility is spread across an area of 388 square metres and is laid out across two floors, which are comprised of 17 rooms, three bathrooms and a storage space. This will provide the station’s site staff with an enhanced working environment to support them to carry out their daily activities.
